Nico's path: From web design to apps to security
Nico's passion for technology started in childhood and led to training as an IT specialist. What followed wasn't a straight path - but exactly the mix that defines Axis/Port. today. With All-in.Digital, he built an agency delivering honest, transparent websites and applications to small and medium-sized businesses. No mystery, no hidden costs - marketing, web design, and application development were his core business from the start. In parallel, he has worked since 2012 at various companies as a consultant, project manager, and in management roles in cybersecurity - including a focus on OT security in industrial environments. This dual expertise is why every application at Axis/Port. is built secure from the ground up. Not because security is our main product, but because we know how important it is.
Kevin's path: Technology was never just a job
Kevin's path into IT wasn't a planned career move. It was simply what always fascinated him. As a teenager, he spent evenings taking things apart, putting them back together, building networks, and teaching himself to code. Not because he had to, but because he wanted to understand how things really work. After training as an IT specialist, backend development, system administration, and IT security at various companies followed. Above all, he learned one thing: it's not enough that something runs. It has to be built right. Secure, well-thought-out, and reliable enough that you can still count on it three years later. This principle is the technical foundation of Axis/Port. today.
Two paths converge
Through working together on projects, it quickly became clear: it's not just the expertise that fits, but also the conviction. Technology must work for the customer, not the other way around. Nico's experience in web design, marketing, and security combined with Kevin's technical depth in architecture and backend development - a perfect complement. Collaboration became a partnership.
The AI hype and what's really behind it
When the AI boom hit, suddenly everyone was talking about artificial intelligence. But in practice, we kept finding the same thing: everyone talks about AI, but real use cases are missing. Many businesses don't know where AI actually adds value. At the same time, security in AI-generated applications and vibe-coding projects is massively underestimated. The result is often software that's neither secure nor reliable.

From these shared experiences, Axis/Port. was born. We joined forces to help businesses deploy AI meaningfully, develop applications that truly last, and build digital products you can rely on. In parallel, he brings years of cybersecurity experience - as a consultant, project manager, and in management roles. This dual expertise is his drive: building digital products that don't just look good, but are secure too.
Kevin Kröger

Technology was never just a job for me - it's what drives me. I've been working professionally in IT for 4 years, but it all started much earlier, at my own desk. At Axis/Port., I'm responsible for the technical side: architecture, security, clean code. My standard: when we build something, it should last, and you should understand it.
