Linux Administration: The Course for Professional Server Management

Kevin KrögerTraining & Workshops

75% of all servers worldwide run Linux. Those who can't use Linux limit their IT career. Our course teaches Linux administration from basics to production server management. Not an academic exercise but a practical course: after 5 days, you independently manage Linux servers.

Course content: From terminal to production server

Day 1: Installation, file system, terminal commands, users and permissions. Day 2: Package management, services, systemd, cron jobs. Day 3: Networking, SSH, firewall (iptables/nftables), DNS. Day 4: Web servers (Nginx/Apache), databases, SSL/TLS. Day 5: Monitoring, backups, hardening, troubleshooting. Every day: 70% hands-on labs in real server environments.

Distributions: Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, Rocky

We primarily teach on Ubuntu Server and Debian — the most widely used distributions in the DACH region. RHEL/Rocky Linux upon request (relevant for enterprise environments). The core is the same: Linux principles are universal. Distribution-specific differences we cover explicitly.

After the course: Certification paths

Our course content covers CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1, and partially LPIC-2. We provide guidance for certification preparation. Our experience: After the 5-day course plus 2-4 weeks of self-study, LPIC-1 certification is well within reach.

Conclusion

Linux skills are the foundation for every IT career. Our course provides practical knowledge that is immediately applicable — from small business servers to enterprise environments.
